From August 29 to 31, global leather chemicals manufacturer Smit & zoon will be present at the All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE) with a brand new collection of leather articles that showcase how Smit’s recent acquisition of Codyeco has strengthened the company and its offerings to its customers. Visit Smit’s stand at E3/B03 to have a look at the collection and meet the team.

Product Passport
One of the highlights at the Smit & zoon stand will be the launch of the new Smit & zoon Product Passport. In 2017 Smit published the first edition of this booklet that offers tanneries an easy to use overview with data on the performance of Smit product’s on leather and on the environment. This supports tanneries in choosing their chemicals wisely, thus reducing their environmental footprint and saving effluent treatment costs.

ACLE 2018 Collection –The ACLE 2018 collection includes an extensive range of shoe upper leather and upholstery leather made with the best Smit and Codyeco have on offer. Highlights include chrome free furniture upholstery leather made with the innovative retanning agent Syntan ZLR 100.

Hans van Haarst, CEO of Smit & zoon says: “During the ACLE we will show the result of the excellent collaboration between Smit’s and Codyeco’s technical teams: A brand new collection of high quality leathers for furniture upholstery and shoe upper leather. Both Smit & zoon and Codyeco are known for their high quality products, their excellent technical support and their focus on research and development. Both companies have sustainability as an integral part of their strategy. All this will be demonstrated in our 2018 ACLE collection. China is an important market to us and we expect this collection to be highly appreciated by our customers in the Chinese market.”

Syntan ZLR 100
SYNTAN ZLR 100 is an innovative, chrome free, cationic retanning agent, based on the mineral zeolite. SYNTAN ZLR 100 ensures an increased affinity of anionic chemicals and a high uptake of all retanning chemicals, fatliquors and dyes used in the leather crusting process. This results in leather with clean, bright and intense colours. Furthermore, the high uptake reduces the volume of chemicals needed in the retanning process and the volume of chemicals ending up in the waste water, thus saving tanneries costs, both on the purchasing as well as on the effluent treatment side.
